Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Inkling collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: October 26, 2026.

Who we are

Inkling is a service of Helpful Intelligence (Peter Van Dijck, Calle Circon 5, Madrid, Spain). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@inklingdata.com.

What we collect

Account data: your name, email address and login details. Login is handled by WorkOS.
Your use of the service: the newsletters you search for and open, and the requests your AI agent makes through the MCP server (which tool, which newsletter or issue, and when). We use this to run the service and to apply plan limits.
Billing data: payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
Usage data: basic information about how the site and app are used, collected with privacy-friendly analytics.
Messages: emails you send us, and emails we send you about your account.

Why we use it

To provide the service you signed up for.
To handle billing and account administration.
To answer your questions and support you.
To understand how the service is used and improve it.
To send you product emails you can unsubscribe from.

We use a small number of service providers to run Inkling: hosting (Laravel Cloud), login (WorkOS), payments (Stripe), email (Bento) and analytics. They process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data.

AI assistants and the MCP server

If you connect an AI assistant to Inkling through the MCP server, that assistant can search newsletters and read issues on your behalf, and what it fetches is sent to the assistant provider. What the provider does with that data is governed by your agreement with them.

Inkling holds issues of public newsletters. These are published by their authors, and contain the names and words of the people who write them. We include free and public content only. If you are an author and want your newsletter removed, write to hello@inklingdata.com.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Write to hello@inklingdata.com. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell account holders by email.
